Born in 1969 in Everett, Mass., Pompeo's first major gig was starring in the film Moonlight Mile alongside Susan Sarandon and Dustin Hoffman, before taking part in later box office successes including Old School.
Pompeo's big break came in 2002, when she was cast as Jake Gyllenhaal's love interest in the film Moonlight Mile. Other film roles include those in Daredevil, Catch Me If You Can and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, where all of her scenes were ultimately cut.
Pompeo fared much better in her next role, the lowbrow but very funny campus comedy, “Old School” (2003). Directed by Todd Phillips, Pompeo filled the role of Nicole, the love interest of the central character Mitch (Luke Wilson) and the principal female in a testosterone laden frat house, When “Old School” grossed over $75 million at the box office, Pompeo’s bankability shot up as well.
